MIA Biannual Conference Held In Federal Way

 

The Brain and the Young Child's Learning

 

The MIA Biannual Conference was held at the Dumas Bay Center in Federal Way, WA, August 18-19, 2006.   Terry Fleischman of the Tri-Cities, WA, presented two days of slides, games and information on the brain.  Ms. Fleischman, who has taken AMS training, related her studies on the brain to the Montessori classroom.

 

Other presenters were:  Dee Stephens and Sharlet McClurkin, ¡°Spiritual stories and Songs¡±, Sharron Reece and Natassah Cisse-Williams, ¡°Coordinating Montessori to the Home¡±, and Donald McClurkin, ¡°Advanced Math Materials for 4-5 year Olds.¡±

 

2006 was the third year that the MIA biannual conference has been held at the beautiful Dumas Center, located on Puget Sound.  Participants expressed appreciation for the delicious food, catered by Dumas Bay Center, and the peaceful and flower-filled outtdoor environment.
